MENDOZA, Argentina (September 3, 2014) – The Vines of Mendoza is pleased to announce the addition of Philipp Real as the General Manager of The Vines Resort & Spa. Real comes to Mendoza with 15 years of international hospitality leadership experience. He will lead the resort’s day-to-day operations and oversee the operations team. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, The Vines Resort & Spa is a new luxury boutique hotel that opened in January 2014 in Argentina’s premiere winemaking region - the Uco Valley.

Real joins The Vines Resort & Spa following a two-year appointment at The American Trade Hotel in Panama, where he opened the property and served as General Manager. Prior, he was General Manager at Kura Hulanda Lodge & Beach Club in Curacao. He also held positions as Director of Food & Beverage at Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach in addition to The Ritz-Carlton Chicago, a Four Seasons Hotel. Real’s experience also includes tenure at the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and the Fisher Island Club in Miami, where he was the Assistant Director of food and beverage. In addition, he received his Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management at the Business and Hotel Management School in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Real is the youngest son of a hotelier family. A native of Liechtenstein, he lived and worked in the family hotel, the Sonnenhof, part of the prestigious Relais Chateau hotels, from an early age. This laid the foundation for his passion for the hospitality industry.

At The Vines, Real will ensure that guests have the most unforgettable experience with curated adventures that incorporate authentic Argentine culture, a sense of laid back luxury, and of course the region’s best wines. Real’s expertise in the food and beverage world will also lend itself well to The Vines’ robust culinary and wine offerings, a focal point of its distinctive experience, including winemaking opportunities alongside The Vines renowned winemaking team and its signature restaurant Siete Fuegos, led by famed Argentine chef Francis Mallmann.

“We are thrilled to welcome Philipp,” said Michael Evans, Co-Founder of The Vines of Mendoza. “He brings genuine passion for superior hospitality and excellence in creating food/wine experiences, which offers great value for not only The Vine Resort & Spa, but our vineyard experience as well. He is a perfect fit for our team.”

With 180-degree views of the Andes Mountains, The Vines Resort & Spa is enveloped by The Vines of Mendoza’s 1,500 acres of pristine vineyards. Every guest’s stay is carefully curated by the resort’s “Gauchos” who act as a personal concierge, tour guide, and friend. The Vines’ 22 Villas are inspired by the rustic natural beauty of the Uco Valley and feature ample outdoor living spaces with expansive views of the Andes and vineyards.
