It’s that time of year again when Mendoza is at its height of great wine and gastronomy: the Hyatt Masters of Food & Wine. If you have a serious soft spot for great cuisine and fine wines, you don’t want to miss out on any of these special winery visits and dinners…

Happening over the first weekend of May there are three full days of indulgence including special tastings at Bodega Los Toneles, Zuccardi, Trapiche, Casarena, Catena Zapata, Escorihuela and Rutini. Chefs are invited from all corners of the world to come and cook their very best for the gastronomy tourists and Argentineans who get tickets for the festival. This year chefs include Chef Mun from South Korea, Laurent Herve from Brazil, Ernesto Ruiz from Spain, Abraham Salum from Mexico and Emilio Macias from Peru among others. If you can’t make it to the winery visits then you can sample an idea of each of the chefs styles with the opening cocktail party on Wednesday 1st May. The diet starts next Monday.   For tickets and info visit: http://mfandw.com.ar/en mastersAmanda Barnes is a British journalist living in Mendoza, getting her fork stuck into good food at every single opportunity and putting on chef hats whenever she can.
