From cutting-edge bodegas to small-scale, artisanal wine-makers, Mendoza offers wine lovers a full spectrum of touring and tasting experiences. After sending out a team of wine experts (it was a tough job!) to tour over 80 visitor-friendly bodegas in the region, we've compiled a list of our 25 recommended wineries to explore during your stay in Mendoza.

In addition to a diversity of production styles and wine varietals, we chose wineries based on their history, their architectural and natural features, the knowledge and professionalism of their guides (often oenologists or owners, especially at the smaller bodegas), and, of course, the quality of their wines.

Although Mendoza's northern, eastern, and southern zones - including areas such as Las Heras, San Martin, and San Rafael - are also producing impressive wines, we've focused our selection on bodegas within one hour of Mendoza city:
