Bodega Sin Fin

Last night Bodega Sin Fin visited The Vines of Mendoza for our weekly winemaker night. I had the distinct pleasure to introduce them and their amazing wines to the crowd. Here at The Vines, we have all loved their wines from the moment we tasted them in our weekly blind tastings a few months ago. We loved them so much we have selected them for our Acequia Wine Clubs.

We had an interesting international crowd and tasted through 5 of their limited boutique wines. Their Chardonnay rocked with interesting minerality, partial malolactic, which gave it a bit of mouthfeel, and crisp acidity, perfect for pairing with food.

They also gave us a treat by bringing different vintages of their Sin Fin Cabernet Sauvignon and Sin Fin Gran Guarda Malbec. They shared a 2005 and 2007 Malbec which gave an interesting comparison of evolution. The 2005 had lovely integrated tannins, with a hint of tobacco, luscious cherry, smoke and dark chocolate. The 2007, not even on the market yet, was fresh and youthful with a bright perfume, structured tannins and more red fruit.

The 2005 and the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon were showstoppers with rich round flavors, ripe fruit and interesting earth notes that rounded out these really amazing example of Argentine Cabernet Sauvignons.

The 2005 Cabernet is featured in our summer Acequia Wine Club and the Gran Guarda Malbec will be featured in an awesome lineup of wines for the Fall Wine club, wines you should definitely not miss.

It was my first attempt at translating from Spanish to English, so thanks to Bodega Sin Fin for an entertaining evening full of beautiful wines and diverting tales.
