IT POURS.
These images are from the heaviest summer storm so far… and the heaviest that some of us have ever seen. The acequias overflow into the streets… and our open patio overflowed into our offices.
And then it’s over! And we go back to tasting wine. And we wait for the rug to dry.

Located next to the Grill Q restaurant in the prestigious Park Hyatt Mendoza in the center of Mendoza city, it offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy a seasonal selection of wines-by-the-glass, and an exceptional collection of Argentina’s 100 best wines available for purchase to carry or ship home.
Last night, The Vines of Mendoza hosted bodega Flecha de los Andes for our weekly noche de enologo, or winemaker’s night. One of the prestigious Clos de los Siete wineries, their wines were all standouts. Also recently they garnered the impressive attention of the Wine Enthusiast, being named #78 of thier top 100 wines of 2008. Here is what they have to say:

92 Flechas de los Andes 2006 Gran Malbec (Uco Valley);
Malbec is what we’re calling this new 15.5%
wine from Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent
Dassault, original partners in Michel Rolland’s
Clos de los Siete project. Round, lush and full of
body, Flechas shows muscle but little fat. It’s colorful,
dark, full of black fruit and long on the finish.
It is modern Malbec done for modern palates.
Imported by Opici Import Company.

All of our customers to The Vines Tasting Room in downtown Mendoza fall in love with this bodega’s wines, so be sure not to miss them. Also look for this wine in our upcoming Acequia Reserva Wine Club shipment along with another 5 stellar Argentine wines to round out the line up! Perfect for Xmas Presents!
